Solar Swimming Pool
Clean and Efficient Pool Water Circulation
Swimming pools rely on water circulation systems. Traditional pool water circulation systems are mostly powered by the municipal power grid or diesel generators. In many areas where municipal power is hard to reach, diesel generators are used, which are noisy and cause significant environmental pollution. Therefore, replacing these with solar powered generation is an ideal solution.

LEO Solar Solution for Solar Swimming Pool
LEO can design and recommend the most suitable solar pool water circulation system based on different usage needs.
In places with long daylight hours or where pools are mostly used during the day, solar systems can directly drive pool pumps. For pools that need to be used at night, a hybrid system of solar and municipal power or diesel generators can be used, or a solar battery storage system can be employed. In any case, this can reduce electricity costs, noise, and environmental pollution to some extent.

How the System Works

It efficiently circulates pool water using solar energy. Depending on sunlight availability, the system can switch between solar power, grid power or battery storage, ensuring constant water circulation.
Build Your Unique Solar Swimming Pool Pumping System
STEP 01
Assess Power Availability
- whether the swimming pool has mains electricity.
STEP 02
Design Power Generation and Supply Scheme
- During the day, try to use solar panels for power generation and supply;
- In rainy or cloudy days or at night, use municipal power for power generation and supply.
STEP 03
Determine Water Source
- Shallow wells
- Deep wells
- Rivers
- Lakes
- Ponds
- Storage tanks
- Municipal water systems

STEP 04
Calculate the Pump Head
Assuming that the water source comes from municipal water supply, then we need to determine the distance between each device. The following are the aspects to be considered:
- The vertical height from the municipal water intake point to the water outlet point (swimming pool);
- The relative distances between the water pump, the swimming pool, the inverter and the PV panels

STEP 05
Calculate the Pump Flow
We need to calculate the water storage capacity of the swimming pool.
Suppose the size of the swimming pool is: length: 15m, width: 10m, depth: 1.2m, then the corresponding water storage capacity is: 15 × 10 × 1.2 = 180m³.
If it takes 10h to complete an internal water circulation, then the water pump needs to complete about 18m³ of water circulation per hour, that is, we need a water pump with a flow rate of 18m³/h.
