Community Water Supply
Empowering Water Scarcity in Remote Areas

LEO Solar Solution for Community Water Supply
LEO solar water pumping system is also used to solve residential and community water supply issues. By using the solar water pump system to draw water from rivers, lakes or wells, and then applying necessary filtration or purification based on water quality, supplemented by water tower storage, where water storage replaces electricity storage, it is the most convenient and economical way to effectively solve the water supply problems for residents in remote areas.

How the System Works

Build Your Unique Community Water Supply Solar Pumping System
STEP 01
Assess Electricity and Backup Options
- whether the community has mains electricity
- whether there is an emergency diesel generator
- how many people are in the community in total.
- during the day, try to use solar panels for power generation and supply;
- on rainy days or at night, use municipal power or diesel generators for power generation and supply as a supplement.
STEP 02
Calculate Reservoir Capacity
The community is generally equipped with a reservoir, and we need to calculate the capacity of the reservoir.
Assuming that the community has 2,000 people and each person requires 50L of water per day, then we need to be equipped with a reservoir with a capacity of 100m³, which can just meet the water consumption of 2,000 people in the community for one day.
STEP 03
Determine Water Source
- Shallow wells
- Deep wells
- Rivers
- Lakes
- Ponds
- Storage tanks
- Municipal water systems

STEP 04
Calculate the Pump Head
- The vertical height from the municipal water intake point to the water outlet point
- The total pipeline length from the water intake point to the water outlet point
- The relative distance between the solar panels, the inverter, the water pump and the top of the reservoir

STEP 05
Calculate the Pump Flow
In addition, we need to obtain the local altitude, latitude and longitude information of the installation site to determine the local effective sunshine time.
If the local effective sunshine time = 5h, and the known capacity of the reservoir is 100m³, then the required pump flow rate Q = 20m³/h can be calculated for you.
